Fourth of july inspiration

This upcoming fourth, I need a red, white and blue outfit for bbq cookouts and beach adventures. These outfits are so cute, I cant pick. I'll post what outfit I finally decide on. Comment which one is your favorite.

For a fancy fourth party
For a patriotic beach walk
For a casual bbq

Preppy Decor

Summer is in full swing and my room is officially a mess. Swimsuits litter the floor, there is empty shopping bags everywhere, and I haven't vacuumed my carpet in at least three weeks. I need some preppy inspiration, hoping my PBteen method will kick back in(My PBteen method is where I look at the catalogs, get inspired, then promptly head upstairs to clean my own room). These colorful bedrooms, bathrooms, and sitting areas sure do inspire me, and hopefully you, too.

Favorite Places

If you can't decide where to go on summer vacation, I've got you covered. Here are my top three favorite places in the United States. Enjoy!

1. Middleburg, Virginia
Middleburg is my absolute favorite place ever, and I'm not just saying that because I live nearby. I have so many good memories of eating at the adorable restaurants and delis, going to the annual Middleburg Christmas Parade, shopping, going to wineries, and growing up. The cute Red Fox Inn, pictured above, is the best place ever, and where I tried George Washington's favorite peanut soup. The butcher shop, also above, is where my dad goes often. The new Salamander Resort is now really popular, and take it from me, super cute and relaxing, too. Middleburg is known as Horse and Wine country, and it is. There is tons of wineries that my parents enjoy, and the Middleburg Fox Hunt is a big deal. Every Christmas during the parade, all the hounds and horses parade down the street. There is preppy, plaid and Ralph Lauren sporting people walking cute dogs everywhere, and it's a preppie's home as well as my own.

2. Charleston, South Carolina

Charleston is my other home away from home. Every summer we take a trip to the Carolina's, and Charleston is one of my favorite stops. The lush, green grass, colorful georgian-style houses, cobblestone streets, and, of course, King's Street, are among the reasons Charleston is one of the best places on earth. The preppiest shops and highest rated restaurants line King's Street, and the fashion is crazy, as you can tell by my-preppy-even-as-a-kid vineyard polo dress and Lilly dress. I recommend SNOB for lunch, Magnolia's for dinner, and on a fancy night, Hall's Chophouse for a friendly, delicious, but expensive steak night.

3. Newport, Rhode Island

This town is perfect for all of the sailing type preppies. My dad's friend lives here, so we stay at their house and explore Newport. There is some crazy mansions, including the Rockefeller's other home, the first picture I listed. There is great shopping, eating, and beaching. I got tons of seaside-prep stuff here, like monogrammed jewelry, anchor and knot bracelets, and vineyard vines clothes. Newport is perfect.

Well, I know this was a long post, but those were my favorite places in the USA. Well, I'm off. See you later!

Black Milk, Spunk, and Gossip Girl

This afternoon I made myself some black milk and sat down to catch up on Gossip Girl. Black milk is my version of chocolate milk, which has so much syrup in it, it looks black. I transferred it into my monnogrammed Tervis tumbler and wasted my day away. Yes, I am so silly for not watching Gossip Girl earlier, but I never saw the big deal. Now I'm hooked, obviously, and admire everything about the show. I think we could all use a little Serena, Blair, and Jenny every now and then. School is almost out, so I don't even feel guilty just sitting and doing nothing. I'm wearing these super cute spandex from a company called Spunk. They come to all of our lacrosse tournaments, and I have a pair of these super cozy shorts in all diffrent preppy patterns. I also purchased the matching crab headband, btw. Well, I got to get back to the Upper East Side, but have a preppicul night and I'll talk to you later. See ya!

This outfit pictured above is perfect for any spring or summer outing. I wore this to eat lunch out, but  this adorable outfit is perfect for a BBQ, boardwalk stroll, or picnic. It's perfectly preppy and casual without being too laid back. The top is from Jcrew, the bottoms from Old Navy, headband from Five And Below the shoes are Jack Rodgers. I love this simple outfit and can tell it will be a summer favorite.

preppy steal

I normally like getting the real thing when it comes to preppy fashion--those Jack Rodgers will always be better than any knockoff, but I'm also thirteen and have a limited budget. Jcrew chinos are the perfect length and so cute, but if I want to buy a pair in every color and critter, I would prefer if they weren't seventy dollars each. Jcrew and Old Navy are owned by the same people, so they have similar clothes. I found a bunch of chinos at Old Navy back in april, and have gradually purchased many pairs. My favorites are my seersucker, hot pink, aqua seahorse, emerald, and periwinkle patterned pairs. They are twenty dollars each but are often on sale. These old navy ones look just as cute as the Jcrew version.
I would definitely recommend these shorts to any sale surfer, because they are great quality and totally preppy. What a steal!

arm candy of the week

I have been pinning tons of beautiful bracelets lately, and it seems this summer's arm candy is stepping it up a notch. This beautiful Lilly bow bracelet is everywhere, and I finally found the etsy shop that sold them. So cute! Anyway, these stacked bracelets are my favorite so far...

The aqua rope vineyard vines bracelet matches perfectly. This definitely will inspire my next arm party. That big bow bracelet though!! This is the etsy shop where you can get them: Ashley Parrington Co on Etsy. Anyway, until next week!
